I've been waiting to post until I had some time listening... Before Christmas, I asked Rick about a sub to augment my Audio Engine A2's. He designed a kit using:
8" SB Acoustics
Yung SD100 (100 watt plate amp)
Denovo Audio 1.0 cubic foot flat pack
I got it assembled shortly after Christmas. Instead of messing with any 'normal' kind of finish, I had my daughter paint on it. Whatever she wanted. We recently moved from Arizona back to Indiana. As you can tell, she misses AZ!
I had the A2's on my desk at first, with the sub along a side wall. (My office is 11.5' x 23') It kept up fine, at about max volume. When I finished my office remodel, I moved the speakers up against the front wall, with the sub almost in the corner. Placed there, I only have to run it at about half power.
It sounds great! Adds some nice, tight bass to the A2's. So nice, now I'm ready to discuss with Rick what to replace the A2's with!
This is my third project with Rick. They have all been FANTASTIC!
