Dagnabbit! Stupid varmint standby circuit!
« on: 2 Feb 2017, 07:32 pm »
Love the sound of my Adam F7 active desk speakers, but while working I normally turn down the volume so as to not distract. The perfect volume seems to be one which, if soft music is playing will sometimes trip the standby circuit in one or both of the speakers. Very aggravating as this is a major distraction.  :banghead:
Think this might easily be resolved or somehow bypassed?

Have you tried changing the input sensitivity?

Since standby is triggered by a low external signal, can you turn down the F7 volume and increase your preamp signal?

Thank you JRace. Not sure how to do that. Input is a laptop. Unless you mean the what Armaegis said.

Adjust the "input sensitivity" dial on the back of the speaker.

Only adjustments are for EQ levels at a few freq. points.

usually does trip at very low levels. often just one channel as levels might be much lower in one vs. the other, especially quiet passages in classical music.
