Small, bright LED flashlight (lay it on platter) + Magnifying glass and you're in business.

I've set up the Dyna 17d2 mk2, at only 1.7mm not many cantilevers smaller!  Talk about a challenge!   

I've had two eye surgeries recently so my vision has worsened, but this method makes it possible, and actually quite easy with the longer cantilevers.

It's actually not "hard" to do in the sense that it requires any skills that you don't otherwise have, it just takes lots of fiddling - adjust this thing, check it, adjust it again, etc., etc.

It seems much scarier and daunting than it actually is.

Couldn't agree more.  Especially once the simple basic concepts of what you are actually doing are understood.

Some guys talk it up to be so hard and complicated that I think they actually scare folks away.  I started setting up carts before online videos even existed.  Just read and taught myself.  Not that hard.
