Welcome.

Visited Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island last spring (June) on holiday.  What is "NI Canada"?

Thank you. Nl is the abbreviation for Newfoundland.

Thanks, didn't realize that.  Unfortunately we didn't have time to visit NI (strange abbreviation for Newfoundland, wonder why not NF or NL?).  But did learn it is on NST (Newfoundland Standard Time) which is 1.5 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time.  Odd isn't it?  But ere in Michigan we split between Eastern and Central time zones, so we (and other states that split or stay "Standard" could use a 0.5 time zone too.

Really would have liked to visit the Viking ruins and even go out to see an iceberg but not sure wifey would have been up for that.  Sorry we didn't visit you, but the rest of the nearby provinces (that are on the Atlantic Time Zone) were very nice.

Greetings & Welcome to AC council84   :thumb:

JLM, I think if you'll look closely it is NL, rather than NI, he just used the small case 'L'.   :thumb:

Yes it is a lower case L. If you get back this way the Northern Peninsula of the island will be like going back in time with lot's of character and scenery including the site of the Viking landing at Lanse aux Meadows that you talked about. I have also spent time in Michigan. Mostly the Traverse City, Sutton Bay region. Equally as beautiful.
