I am in a pickle. The more I read on line about Balanced and Unbalanced Cable the more I get confused. I understand the basics but it gets to be too much the more I read.
Here is my problem. Every source I plug into my TVC (Transformer Volume Control) has very little Bass. I am sure that this issue is to do with the TVC and no other source. When the sources are direct to the AMP they sound fine
I have tested a laptop direct to the TVC and from TVC to amp = Little Bass, increased Mids
I have tested a Bottlhead Phono Preamp direct to the TVC and from TVC to amp = Little Bass, increased Mids
I have tested a CDP direct to the TVC and from TVC to amp = Little Bass, increased Mids.
I have rested Single ended cables and balanced cables running to the TVC
The Promitheus TVC has 1 Balanced INPUT and 2 Balanced OUTPUTS
The only way these sources sound proper is when I go into an Audio Interface first. The OUTPUT Jacks on the Audio Interface are both Balanced/Unbalanced.
So a am assuming that the TVC needs to see a Balanced signal in order to sound proper? I am wrong?
So my question is ………….Do I need to re wire my TVC to have Single Ended INPUTS and OUTPUTS? This is all I can think of doing to fix the issue.
PS ........if you look at my system page the pictuer shows the TVC and audio interface. You will see I have to connect into the interface before the TVC..
any thoughts are appreciated..
