The hawks are a great sounding speaker. They have a open and airy sound, superb imaging and surprisingly taught bass. I previously had the rainmakers, and while good, they best them in every way and not by a small amount.
Up to this point I have sold only "like new" items so I have rated these speakers a 7 to be conservative. There are two small blemishes on the cabinets. The first is a very small ding to the top back corner of one of the speakers. You can see from the photo that the damage to the veneer is approximately half the diameter of a dime and in reality much less visible than the close up photo suggests. The second was a small white spot the size of a pencil eraser on the back of one of the speakers. I contacted Totem and they gave me the exact touch-up paint pen to use. The serial numbers are HKB3476/7.
At $1090 they are a great deal - especially given they come with the optional grills which were $100 but necessary if you have small kids. So if you have been wanting to try them out now is a great opportunity. Please no low balls, this price is firm as it is already very low for these speakers.
I do not have the original boxes but will double box and surround them with at least 3" of rigid foam. Local pick-up is also permitted and encouraged. I will pay for packaging and paypal fees.
