Rick, I understand that is what a sensible person would do but imagine that you have a neurotic audiophile customer that doesnt want the mid and high signal passing through "inferior" AD and DA processors in products like miniDSp or even DEQX.
Would it be a problem just to use the digital processing on the woofer ?

You brought up a really good point. I know some will argue with me but I believe that the advantages of DSP far outweigh any *assumed* differences in the DAC sections. DSP only on the woofer section does help with room peaks which are problematic in almost every system. The other benefits are adding bass extension and better control of the upper end response and transition to the midrange.
The additional filtering on the mid has the benefit of improved integration, lower distortion, and smoother response. I priced out these systems and they would range from $5,000 - $7,000 / pair with shipping. Just add a front end (or mobile device with Chromecast Audio) and you're all set to go!
