I grew up around the corner from Alex Lifeson. Coincidentally, in a very different neighbourhood of Toronto, my best friend lived near Geddy. One day he was walking his dog when another dog started sniffing his dog's ass. The owner came up and apologised. It was Geddy Lee. So my friend was all, "oh, god, no problem at all..." Being Canadian of course, he didn't dare say something perfectly normal like, "oh, you're Geddy Lee, I really love your music."
While I'm telling stories, I now live in the Cayman Islands. I was at the supermarket waiting for the butcher. A guy next to me was waiting for some fillet mignons when I realised, wow. That's Iggy Pop. Some other dude starting chatting with him - asking him if we wants to jam with his wife who plays piano. He was very nice, but politely said, "yeah, I don't usually jam when I come here, I just chill."
