FS: AVA 400R Amp $1550 plus shipping to CONUS/$1500 Local SOLD!

I love this amp, but shipping it to Taiwan is too expensive. I had originally planned to place it in my checked luggage, but Frank talked me out of it (think baggage manglers). I either sell it now or it will sit in storage for at least 19 months and maybe more.

This amp is 2 yrs old, so it still has one year remaining on its 3 yr warranty. I tell Frank who bought, so he knows. It's that simple.

This amp has sat in its shipping box in storage for a year now. It is out and powering my system this month because I am back home. It is in great condition. See photos below. There is a mark on the left-side panel toward the back. That's it. This comes with the stock cord, but you can use your own cord if you wish.

$1775 plus shipping to CONUS. For $50 more, I'll include a Venom 3 power cord in addition to the stock cord. I will double box the amp. I will absorb the Paypal 3%.

I hadn't considered a babysitting scenario. Hmm.

The D Sachs, Gustard X20u, and AVA 400R sound great together. I wish I had floorstanding speakers to take full advantage of the preamp's abilities.

I priced this to sell. If no one wants it, I would be very comfortable with your babysitting it.

Actually, that had ocurred to me, but some people have sons-in-law that are downright frightening. You never know what horrible things might happen.

Seriously though, I'm not going to use this for the next 19 months. I could store it; I could loan it to Jay whom I know would treat it really well. I guess if it doesn't sell, I could ship it to Taiwan, too, but I'd rather not.

I'll only maintain this ad for about three weeks before cancelling it.

I have a pair of Salk HT2-TLs and an Integra receiver. I have been researching amps that would compliment my speakers. A member recommended AVA Synergy 450. How would your amp compare to the Synergy 450?

Hi, James.

I'm not entirely certain how they compare. They've got the same output power, but the Fet Valve amps are smoother sounding. Perhaps they've got a hint of tube warmth to them.

I'm taking the 400R to a G2G north of Seattle on Saturday. There won't be a 450 there, but I'm sure the other guys would happily post their impressions.

I'm back from Taiwan, so I'm placing my 400R up for sale again. It's been sitting in storage since December except for a brief visit to Daedalus Audio in Ferndale, WA where I auditioned some speakers last week. It performed flawlessly.

$1600 + shipping to CONUS gets you this very nice amplifier. I will ship it double boxed (even though Frank Van Alstine says the single shipping box is enough).
