Howdy from Texas
« on: 9 Sep 2016, 01:23 am »
Hi everyone.  Came across this site a few weeks ago while researching for a project to convert a spare room into a home theater/listening room.  Hoping to be able to audition some Salk speakers sometime soon.

What part of the state are you in?  We've lots of members in the metropolitan areas, and even a few of us out in the western parts.

Welcome!

Hope your spare room is Texas sized (bigger is always better for listening).  And most Salk speakers are pretty good sized.  Jim emphasizes world class finishes (a shame to use in a darkened home theater setting) and top notch drivers.

Thanks everyone!

I'm near Houston (Pearland).  Looks like there are some in the area open to hosting auditions.  I'll probably be able to start that later this month.   The room in question is upstairs and is 12x14 feet, with an 8 ft sloped ceiling.  So I need to figure out what speakers will fit the room well, and deal with noise abatement, possibly with a subfloor.
