We we not able to demo the X1 in Munich due to a variety of amplifier and computer problems - so they were static. We did show the new M3 Triode Master in another system to good effect. It is very tough to get good sound at the Munich show - more of an expo where you look and talk. It was a lot of fun though. We will demonstrate the X1 next week at the LA show with the Vinnie Rossi LIO.
I'm happy to hear that you had problems with the X1 in Munich 'cause they performed less than good when I were in for a listening session.
The M3 Triode Master performed way better but seemed to lack just a bit in the upper treble but had a nice smooth midrange.
Was it intentional that the grill fabric was left out of the presented speaker to expose the drivers?
Hopefully I can hear a flawless X1 next year in Munich and hopefully with a Vinnie Rossi LIO in front.
