NEWBY HERE
« on: 14 Aug 2016, 09:22 pm »
Hello there,

I'm planning on updating my office system.  After years of enjoying a basic set-up (Cambridge Audioworks D10 2.1 through a Cambrige Audio DAC Magic and a V-Amp for Sennheiser HD580), I 'm thinking on going up a few notches in my audio journey.  I have been putting together a shopping list for my new System:
Nuprime IAD 8; Dali Zensor 1 speakers and Velodyne Impact 10 Sub.  Additionally I have been wondering about adding the Audioquest Jitterbug in the way out of my laptop (Lenovo X1).
All comments and recommendations, primarily on speaker selection to complement the IAD8, will be very welcome.

Welcome damguz.

We need more information:

- list of sources including digital formats
- budget (with and without headphones)
- size and clear space (desk, cubicle, room) constraints
- musical genres of interest
- audio preferences
- how loud can you go
- social security number (just kidding, wanted to see if you still with me)

hello,  JLM
thank you for your interest.  for sources it will be dedicated to getting the audio out of my computer by USB, currently use Itunes.
Budget, I am hopping to keep it under 2,500 but 3,000 can be managed with little convincing to the missus.
Room is 5x3 m2 and is my corner office (sounds better when written ;) ). 2 wood venered walls and 2 half glass walls).  Desk space or separation from walls is an issue as the desk part where y plan to position the speakers is only 2 feet deep.
Musical generes, cover pretty much everything from classical, to trance (the good one) and some good Latin Salsa songs.
I guess that i am on the warm side of Audio preferences.
And finally as volume (db) is concerned from 9 to 5 will be kept for my office only, but the after hours portion (I am night person when work is regarded) can be pumped up as loud as it is structurally safe.

thank you for any comments and help you can provide
