Magnepan MMGW for office/pc setup? (nearfield)

I have had a pair of MMGW as my surrounds for a couple of months now and find they would sound great with 2ch with a sub. I am currently building a small office in my house which will be kind of my little man cave. I work from home so I would be sitting at least 8 hours a day. Right now I just use headphones to listen to music but would like a speaker option but don't want something that takes up a lot of space. Thought about getting some MMGW but not sure how they would perform at super nearfield listening. I would add a DIY 10" Ultimax/Reference HO sub for the low end. What you all think? I have 3 monitors so the Maggies would be about 5-6' apart of course pointed toward me in the center of the desk.

It would work okay but if you have the budget, go with the Mini Maggies, they're a whole different level of performance.

What Steve said. With a few feet of space behind them, the Mini Maggies are amazing.
