Does anyone here know the cartridge height and overhang for an AT440mla?

Dimensions (mm) : L17.3 x W 16.0 x H 28.0

Overhang would depend on the arm setting requirements.

Thanks for the info Bacobits1, but I think I am asking the wrong question.  Here is my situation:

I just purchased a Rega Rp6 Turntable.  I want to use my AT440mla cart.  I want to replace the felt mat with a Herbies Audio mat.  I want to have arm parallel with
the record surface WITHOUT using shims (if this is possible).  I guess the height I need is from the top of the cart to the end of the stylus.

Ahh I see, I also never seen that measurement. Mainly because it would change when you add the appropriate vtf. Tweak with the arm height shims / devices.

Mount the cart and see where it falls close to level. That's not an exact measurement anyway. May sound just fine. I know we are all anal about this stuff sometimes too much so. Try it.

Herbie's makes various thickness mats. Use the original felt mat 3mm? Then see where it aligns up to level.
If the cart is back down a hair you may be good. AT seems to prefer a bit down in the back.
In the past I have had 3 Regas. Two 3s and a maxed out P5.

I ended up taking the shims off my p1 and put them on the RP6 because the arm would hit the edge of the record! The arm sits on top of a new brace that is about 2mm thick,  but the cart still hits the side.  I think they made the arm even shorter.  This did not happen on the p1.  For now I will use the wool mat  and then I will take the Herbies mat off the p1 to use. (2mm thick?)  Maybe in the future I will purchase a thicker (4mm?) mat from Herbies.

My initial impressions of the RP6 is that it makes the p1 feel like a toy.  I feel like I finally have a "real" turntable.

I purchased the RP6 from Soundstage Direct on Monday and was happy that they got it to me by Thursday. :thumb:
Friday I was having trouble setting it up and called customer service and was told that someone would call me back.  I never got a returned call.

I measured mine with a VTF of 1.6 grams and it measures about .656" or 16.66mm.

While Bacobits numbers might be correct, they (as supplied by AT) are not in the normal fashion as far as the US is concerned.

The 17.3mm dimension is from the top of the cartridge to the end of the stylus in its natural, unweighted position. The 28mm dimension is really a vague number describing its over all length from front to back, including the connector pins. 16mm is the width of the cartridge (at the mounting flange).
