and yet...to the best of my knowledge
all guitars and bass players use box speakers
of various designs, most are 10" drivers.

A lot of guitar cabs are open at the back.

So how does a comparison of two highly regarded open baffle speakers turn into yet another debate about boxes vs baffles

I agree - people who have no interest in OB speakers should maybe just stay out of the OB circle.

Getting this thread back on track - maybe? Or at least adding something helpful--maybe?

PureAudioProject will be exhibiting at:

Montreal show starting 3/24.
Axpona (Chicago) in April
CA Audio Show near Oakland in July

Spatial will be at:
Axpona
LA Audio Show (June).

At this time I only see Axpona as a show where both companies will exhibit.

Currently neither are listed for T.H.E. Show Anaheim in September.

Update adding the Munich Hi End Show May 18-21:

Spatial Audio Laboratory    Mach One Classics    Halle 4 , Halle 4 W12

PureAudioProject          PureAudioProject UG    Halle 3 P20

Updating the update.  The list has grown to three shows where both manufacturers will exhibit. Both Spatial and PureAudioProject will be at the CA Audio Show in Oakland in July. Spatial will have two rooms. A great opportunity for Bay Area members to hear both speakers and meet their designers.  Here is the list of exhibitors.

For spatial, the Axpona web site says they will be in the marketplace. Does that mean the won't have speakers set up? They were listed as an exhibitor at RMAF, but all I saw was a pamphlet on a table. I'd love to hear them both at the same show.

They should be in the room with Lampi, Verastarr and Linear Tube Audio.  Premier of the Triode Master model of the M3.

In looking over the M4, it looks like Clayton is using the Eminence 12CX coax and the P Audio BM-D440S 1 inch screw-on compression driver. I gotta hand it to him, I can't find a better 1-inch screw-on compression driver out there, most of the high end ones are bolt-on. That M4 really does sound very good for it's price.

If someone made a SOTA compression driver in a 1 inch screw-on, I would probably try this on a DIY. I have just never heard a compression driver that I liked.

Does anyone know if Clayton is also using this same driver on the M3 with the 15?
