VMPS and GR = Peace and Tranquilty

Hi All,

As most of you know, Brian Cheney and Danny Ritchie have had rather serious philosophical, design. and personal issues in the past that have "spilled over" on to this and other forums.

I also know that the "publically shared communications" between these parties have not benefited either in any positive way, and I would say the general concensus, is that most of the outcome for both has been damaging.

Many times we expect too much from people.  Just because a doctor becomes a World renouned Surgeon, doesn't mean he'll be a great Humanitarian as opposed to a materialistic professional. (no direct parallel here :D )

The intellectual and egotistical combinations and balance needed to succeed in some things, do not nessessarily provide a set of social skills to the same level, and we shouldn't expect that they will.

Both Danny and Brian are human, and have displayed such.  At this point, there is no need for finger pointing or wagging.

I am happy to announce that both parties agree that this pointless escalation has no place on any public forum and both agree that what was said in the past is over and both promise to NOT continue.

While they agree to disagree regarding product and design philosopy, they have pledged to not "push the buttons" of the other, or refer to each others company, product, designs, or customers negatively. (did I forget dealers? )

I applaud this move, and look forward to getting back to work on building product and helping customers.

I would ask that all the customers and supporters of each "NOT" post inflamatory comments or questions that are leading or provoking to either of these gentlemen.  While they are responsible for their actions, we too must be responsible for ours.

Downing another companies product, does not, and will not make your product sound any better.  If you bought it, designed it, or built it, the value is in your enjoyment, or providing enjoyment, and not anything else.

I think most all of us will agree that this is good news. and a good move by these guys.  As long as they keep their promises, I'd have dinner or drinks with either (or both) as long as they're buying.

As a relative new comer to AC I applaud the decision to "lay down the swords" when it comes to things other than design differences.  Several times I started following a post string to be dissapointed by where it lead.

:hyper:  three cheers to all, and to you John  :notworthy:

Thanks Everyone, but the credit goes to both parties involved finally looking deeper and wading through some even deeper mud.

As many problems are very complex, I was able to uncover and discover some interesting things about each person.  I have taken both at their word to move forward to better things than what we have seen here over the last few years.

I can see great things for both companies now that the anchor has been weighed

And again, my thanks to Brian and Danny for being open to mending the fences, and doing the right thing.
