Generation X and Millennials probably watched Voltron in their nappies in 1984 when the original was on TV but I was already 36 and doing grown up things like dating a stripper and getting drunk in rock-n-roll bars so Voltron is new to me. But this being summer rerun season, 105 F degrees in the shade and with a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes I checked it out and now I'm hooked.

Produced by Dreamworks Studios in traditional Japanese anime style with CGI action scenes each 23 minute episode is like a beach book, entertaining and fun.

Wayne, there's an original Voltron movie on youtube that includes all the cut violence for US censorship that allowed it to be a kids video. It's essentially what the original 1984 was suppose to be. I have it ready to watch sometime.

Voltron fan here.

I was one of those kids watching. Opened me to the world of anime. I wouldn't know the works from Studio Ghibli if it wasn't for Voltron.

If you like Voltron, you must watch the original Mobile Suit Gundam series (1979).

I started today. It's better than expected, pretty decent for a kid show.
