DSD software for use with IDA-8 DAC
« on: 8 Jul 2016, 06:23 pm »
I plan to assemble a mini-mac music server for use with my IDA-8's DAC to listen to DSD files. I would appreciate input from those folks doing the same as to software used for this purpose, e.g., Audirvana Plus, HQPlayer, etc.
Thanks,
Reed

I use Amarra with a similar setup and think it sounds very nice.

Hey Now,

I am using Roon w/HQPlayer to upsample to DSD256 for all my PCM files. I tried JRMC and A+. Roon allows me to use all my ALAC files through HQPlayer, about 90% of my 20,000 files are ALAC. I am using an Intel NUC as a music server with NAA (network audio adapter), my main computer with Roon and HQPlayer is a 5K 27" iMac with an i5 Quad Core and handles HQPlayer DSD256 upsampling with no problem.
