Mystery NuForce Monoblock Amps?
« on: 5 Jul 2016, 09:13 pm »
I have a set of monoblocks that I cant seem to indentify I recently purchased along with other equipment. I searched everywhere for a photo match but cant do it. I am guessing these were from the 2006-2007 NuForce Years. They sound great. Not sure how much power they are putting out but nothing huge. Very smooth sound. Can anyone identify these?

That's an old faceplate design... my best guess is their Ref9 probably V1 generation. You could try asking @rustydoglim

+1 on the Ref 9 call.  Looks like a set that were for sale locally on Canuck Audio Mart last year.

Thanks guys, just uploaded an inside shot of one of them. Would this be circa 2006 then?

Can you find a date or model printed anywhere on the circuit boards?

Pretty weird that a product doesn't have some sort of self-identifying label on it.

This could be the first generation Ref 9 (back in 2005) that has been upgraded.
If there is no model number at the bottom, then the only way to find out is to look at the top or bottom of the amp board (the 8"x3" board) where you can find a model number somewhere near the edge of the board.  We can then tell which V1, 2 or 3 version board.

There was a version number on the bottom. I uploaded that photo. Since it reads 3.01, perhaps this is the V3 upgrade on the model? It seems the new black PCB was part of the V3 upgrades later.
