Wonder what we'll do for the 250th? Apathy is so bad in the U.S. it may not get celebrated other than as another 3 day weekend.
I'm old enough to remember the bi-centennial. Lots of red, white, and blue everywhere, including a friend's basement toilet room (he bought the house years afterwards) that had a red toilet, white sink, and blue shag carpet.
