Hi there, wanted to quickly introduce myself. I'm currently compiling a vintage audio setup, comprising of a Mcintosh C28, Mcintosh MC2505 and was originally going to pair it with my dad's 80's Pioneer PL-7, which unfortunately isnt holding speed, so now in search of a few things for the setup-
Turntable- Current contenders are- SL-1200, Rega RP3, P6, Pro-ject 1Xpression Carbon..
DAC for streaming- Have an Aries Mini on order (too function/feature rich to pass up), with a linear power supply. Might add an external DAC to it down the road (Nuprime, Teac 503, Audio-gd, etc)
Speakers- Aah, speakers. Currently running the Macs on Paradigm Studio 100's (sitting in my media room), but looking for another pair of speakers since the macs will reside in my study. Almost got a pair of Martin Logan Ascents, but on the second audition, they seemed to get a bit too bright in the mid range, so passed on them. Considering SVS towers, Vienna Acoustics, etc. All pre-loved.
Would love to get any guidance, as well as if there are any local houston peeps, would love to share what you have and choices!
