Independence Day Resurgence

I'll do you all a favor.

Don't watch it. Please don't !  :nono:

My rating is a D to D minus. Very poor character development. Horrendous dialogue and writing. Like talking for the sake of filling up 2.5 hrs of your evening (or a really bad blind date, where you are left thinking "Please somebody rescue me"). There are B rated movies that are better than this!

That's it, I've warned you! The movie will make some money due to the CGI.

Marvel's Civil War is the work of a genius by comparison!

Best,
Anand.

How does it stack up against the first movie.

The original annihilates it in story line, comedy, and dialogue! The CGI is better in the current one obviously, but honestly you would enjoy it more with the volume on mute!  :duh:

And there is no Will Smith in the sequel.

Best,
Anand.

He must have read the script and said no... well damn, I guess I'll skip it tomorrow.

I thought the first one was borderline horrible.

Two strikes ..... Jeff Goldblum is in this one too!

The sequel will carve its own niche in mediocrity. The original I would give a solid B to B minus  :thumb:

Anand.

Saw this with my 14 yr old son on Friday and we would both give it a solid C.

While it isn't close to the original, it did have a few moments and the CGI was well done without going too far overboard.

It was pretty much what I expected...nothing less, nothing more.

Glad we caught a matinee and didn't pay full price.

My wife wanted to see it in the theater, so I lost a couple of hours of my life yesterday.  For the rest of you, take the reviews here to heart and spend your time doing something else.  This was a bad movie with very good special effects.

The first one had the swagger of a cocky young Will Smith counterbalancing the stuttering thought process of Goldblum. I went into this flick expecting at best a fun CGI experiance, without much help from the script or actors. It was worse than I expected. I will not buy this flick for my collection. Absolutely awful. A pity really.
