The last hurdle was indeed the input. But not a cable, the culprit was an RCA jack. I had used parts-box RCA's in keeping with the economy mode of the Bugle. But the right input hot lead was spinning in it's insulator, so......they're all replaced with Vampire gold over brass. $22 worth of RCA's in a $60 component! And while I was at it I ripped the wiring out of the Marantz 6100, re-did the grounds so the cart ground goes to a binding post separate from the chassis ground and installed 2 more Vampire RCA's and a Schurter IEC jack and ran Vampire 22 ga from the RCA's to the headshell lead loom.
