I saw this for sale on Audiogon and I have no idea what it is. I think it's supposed to go between a source and the amp. The ad promises to make your stereo sound more "fruity". It's also supposed to give you "best-terseness". Anybody know what this thing is?

all jokes aside, is this a tube buffer?  Looks like that is what it is.

Looks as such..

> 3. LISTEN TO THE SOUND AS FRUITY, WARMNESS AND MUCH MORE.

You really need to give it a shot and post your impressions.  I've never heard a fruity audiophile system.

This joke is even easier:
If you want your system to sound fruity play a Peter Allen record.

I had a look at this thing this morning on Audiogon. I was tempted to send an email to tell them they could probably do more business if you could understand their ads

yup, that's a tube buffer stage.  shows up on http://cattylink.com/ for $100 (plus shipping, of course).  i have an ase z-man tube buffer stage that i like to use, so this item seems quite interesting to me.  (i actually offered the seller $150, shipping included, when he had these f/s a few months ago, but he respectfully declined.)  i have used the z-man between tuner & preamp, & between cdp & preamp w/nice results - warms up the sound, w/o any loss of detail.  i presently use a z-man between a creek obh-12 passive pre & my amp(s).  i am supposed to get my melos preamp back from melos w/a new tube wolume pot upgrade.  i will likely pull the z-man from its present location, & re-install it between tuner or dac & preamp...

I really do not know much about this particular Kailin product, but I would be careful about buying anything from Kailin or from this seller.  Quite a few posts over at Audioasylum.com regarding Kailin and not much of it is good.  http://db.audioasylum.com/cgi/m.mpl?forum=amp&n=21586&highlight=kailin&session=  is one example.
