Office system reconfiguration means giving up my beautiful Cullen modded PS Audio GCC-250 integrated amp. This amp has been used sparingly in my office system for the last couple of years. 250 WPC at 8 ohms and 500 WPC at 4 ohms, it will drive 2 ohm loads with ease. 5 sets of inputs, including balanced, plus a pre-out.
I've had a soft spot for GCC amps, having owned 2 unmodded (GCC100, GCC250) and 2 Cullen modded (GCC250, GCC500) units. I've found for the $ the modded units are really great sounding and utterly reliable. This modded 250 is a wonderful sounding piece, the best of the bunch, IMO.
Cullen Stage III mods are very extensive, involving dozens of parts in the gain cells, Icepower modules and internal wiring, and include superb and expensive WBT connectors on the first set of RCA inputs and the speaker terminals.
Sonically, the bass is tight and powerful as expected, but the Cullen mods really open up the mids and highs to a major degree, being utterly smooth and natural. The mods really transform these amps. It's hard to find fault with the sound. The preamp section by itself is very transparent and worth the price by itself, with great flexibility.
GCC amps are bulletproof, with superb protection, so very long life is likely, and they are very efficient electrically, barely getting warm even under high power conditions.
List of the stock unit was $3495, mods were $1200.
Original packing, remote and manual are included. Condition is excellent.
I seriously doubt there is a more powerful, cleaner sounding or better built integrated amp out there for this price.
 Thanks for having a look!
