Folks,

Brief interlude for humour - my cat, Ben, a large moggy, is very attracted to styrene packaging beads, so I took a picture and posted it to the gallery, here:

He follows me around the house and workshop, has been with us 17 years!

Cheers,

Hugh

So now we know the secret to the AKSA sound:

Dulux emulsion and car hair (17 y/o harvested by static electricity on strene) :)

Hi Hugh

AKSACat 55 !!! I would probable order one but sonically I don’t think it is going to cut it. Midrange to scratchy, and the there’s that  intermittent low frequence hum (depending on mood). No, I don’t think it will hold a whisker on your other kits. And how do you attach the heatsink?

Yes, but no one can deny that this latest release from Aspen is literally the cat's meow!

just how big is he Hugh? I don't recall seeing him on my visit a few years back to Dean Rumah?

My wife and I have a pair of 5.5kg (thats over 12 pound each!) cats here ;-)

Cat's aren't stupid, just not as loyal and consistently devoted as dogs. Great insulation however for your old moggy
.
P.S. Hugh - will a 100w + power supply give me even more control of bass on my Vaf I-93's (-3db @ 17 cycles)? - just about to order????.

Can't believe it can get much better.

Hi Glen, Benny and Dennis!

The cat is difficult to measure.  Did you know that Heisenberg had a corollary concerning the issues measuring cats?  I make him about 55cms from tip of nose to ahem rear exit......  Tail makes him almost a full metre.

He'd weigh a fair bit.  I'll have to do this by putting him in his preferred package.  Pardon, this might take some time.  Have you read '101 Things to do with a Dead Cat'?  My daughters want my cat dead, I am most affronted.  One does not kill cats if one is possessed of class and compassion.  Harumph......

Dennis, yes, the N+ will enhance bass further - and highs - on a 100W AKSA.  It will take time to bed down, but the results are worth it!

Cheers,

Hugh

Are you sure that's just a 55w cat? Looks more like a 100w beast to me...

Hugh,

I been looking thru the pricelist but can't find the AKSAcat. I need to know the cost so I can work out my budget for next year.

1 x GK-1
1 x AKSonic
1 x AKSAcat ???

BTW: When is the Nirvana and N+ upgrade going to be ready for the AKSAcat. I can't wait forever you know.

Your immediate response is required  :!:

Thanks
Greg

Somehow I don't think the AKSAcat would enjoy the idea of a soldering iron anywhere near her...

Surely, we will now have to use Cat 9e cable inside our AKSAs
