I have no idea; I never saw the thing until today but I've already made plans to see if it can't be brought back to life.
It looks like it was made in 1937 which, I"m told, makes it 2 years older than my mother-in-law who will outlive us all.

I once looked at a schematic for an old radio - I couldn't even identify half the symbols.
