Communication system, for headsets?
« on: 26 May 2016, 07:39 pm »
Hi guys,

If you had a small group of people that needed to communicate while moving around inside a building doing stuff, what would you use?

This looks like an ideal headset, but there's nothing ideal about PTT radios for their fidelity. Also an option to be able to leave it open, instead of PTT, would be nice. In the past cellphones have been used but it's a really stupid way to go, too, since they get chucked at the end or a project.

Thoughts?

Can you define "doing stuff"?

Typing mostly, but also pushing stuff around, etc. It's in hospital work.

I don't know how many you need or how big of a building/space you will be using them in. But how about two-way radios? These might be a bit overkill, but it is only one example of many options. http://smile.amazon.com/Motorola-CLS1410-Walkie-Headsets-Charger/dp/B010THN5O6/ref=pd_sim_107_23?ie=UTF8&dpID=51uLnfAa0dL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR108%2C160_&refRID=1K94QRXQW8J3M459SV67

Not necessarily overkill. The biggest issue is trying to achieve cellphone like quality.

Don't understand why the phones have to be thrown away at the end. If still an option, what about using personal phones with one of the free conference call services and just have the line open the whole time

They only get used periodically. It could 6 months to 2 years at a time. Currently the client buys whatever it is that gets used. They don't have any right to ask people whom may or may not have personal cellphones to use them.

I can't think of anything that matches a decent phone's call fidelity.
