Maritan,I would do a home trial first. The effect of the DWM really is totally different than a sub. It increases bass from about 300 to 80 hz, roughly.* This adds weight and impact to lower Mids, upper bass and top of the mid bass. It doesn't do anything at all to lower bass IMO. IOW, it does not in any way overlap with the Subs. I really love my DWMs. However they tend to add most value in large rooms, especially if you like your main panels WAY out in the room (the further you go past 5 feet from FW the more upper bass reinforcement the speakers need IMO). *It can also smooth peaks if used wisely.
