Fellow music lovers and tonal and image/soundscape enthusiasts, your help is requested and much appreciated. Especially if you know more than me about the sonics of one tube brand as compared to another. I'm currently using some near five year old Matsushita 6922's in an Audio Research LS7 line stage. I don't hear a sonic penalty cause of their age, but, hopefully, it won't cost me a lot to find out if there is one. Thoughts on this?
And if you don't mind . . what is your history with pre-amp tubes? What would you recommend and why- your experience and/or imaginings- for my LS7?
