That's it Steve an opinion that's what I'm looking for, but what it appears based on hitting its funding mark , is a good number of members have ordered and just don't want to admit it, here, do to the stigma of a $200 TT. I AM JUST admitting  I haven't got clue but that price for a new TT , is nice , if the specs and parts are equal or better than say a retail $1000 TO $2000 TT, IT COULD BE A good starter for me. Please vote or comment

I voted for not considering it.  It looks like you're getting $200 worth of turntable, but nothing more.  The best plug 'n play table that includes a phono preamp is the 1st gen Nomad from VPI on sale at Music Direct for $699.  The next lower in price is one of the tables from Pro-ject or Music Hall, they have variations of the same tables in some of their cheaper offerings.  Below that I wouldn't recommend anything.

If you are bound to spending <$300, I'd look at the U-turn Audio tables.  They are cheaply made, but sound surprisingly good.  A friend has one with the acrylic platter and loves it.  Also, U-turn sells an inexpensive phono stage and it's not bad for being a sub-$100 item.

Cheap and cheerful strikes again!  :)

I'm not a turntable guy. Never will be. But, if I was going to get a budget model I'd get a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon. They've been doing this for a long time and are well reviewed. Always looked like a screaming deal to me.

Thanks that's exactly the info I needed not the haha with nothing to back it up. The TT is not first on my list to buy. I have been out of the hobby for while and need current opinions from those who have been. I love solution , opinion based replys , I thought voting would get more quick hit and go responses. Before I spotted this, I had been budgeting about $1500 maybe the vpi scout, I've heard of products that started on kick starter and we're steals , not electronics though. The fact they sold $45k worth blew me away and thought I could be  missing something.

I voted basic starter TT, if I liked TT I would buy a SL1200 clone or a Pro-ject.
Goodluck.

You have to remember, this Fluance TT is targeted at young people with small budgets that scour for used records. I noticed this at the Bookman's store in Flagstaff when I lived there a few years ago. I think all the company wants is to sell a decent product and make some money at it. I doubt it's targeted at people like us.

+1, that video drew me away from the product its exaggerated and unrealistic.
The pompous voice announcer speaks a text that suggest the TT is a great wonder and innovation in audio never seen before, they add the hashtag RespectTheRecord to beef up the video message that the product is remarkable.

for $300 you can pick up a used Rega Planar 2 or an old Kenwood 'rock' turntable.

Don't spend your money on kickstarter.
