Remote Kit Question

Kevin,

I have been asked about installing one of your remote kits inside a preamp. I had a look at the kit at RMAF and it seems nicely done. Can you provide the dimensions of the board so I can determine how much room will be needed and thus if this is feasible?

The board wasn't very large if I remember correctly but dimensions would be great. I looked at your site but didn't find this information. Looking at the pictures and going from memory I'd guess it's about 1.5 x 4 inches.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

Yes... thanks for asking.  I've updated the web page to reflect the size.

The actual size is 35mm wide by 102mm long (1 3/8" x 4") so your pretty close on your guess.

The board can be located anywhere in the chassis as the IR port can be attached via a ribbon cable.

Any way to get a remote for Noble pots?  My pre uses 2 - 25k Nobles.  Might be nice to have so I can set vol & bal from listening position, but I don't think I want to go to the Alps pot & I really think its 25k I need anyhow...

The remote board is good with any motorized pot that can work with 5VDC to control the motor.   I'm not sure there is a motorized Nobel easily available.   You would have to do some searching.   I've only used the Alps units to date.
