Isolated Audiophile.
« on: 26 Mar 2016, 01:41 am »
Good Day everyone.  Greetings from Northern Saskatchewan where winter is long and cold.  The only enjoyment I have in the winter is nice wine and good music from my system.  One good thing about living in this cold environment is that I don't have to worry about my tube amp over heating my room.
Finally joining the forum after many months of reading some great discussions.  This has to be the most civilized audio forum on the net.  Even when discussing about the most polarizing topic in audio such as the  merits of cabling, the tone of the discussion is civilized and educated.

A nice Merlot or Cabernet to warm up the body.  When it gets really cold a shot of spiced rum.  Ever noticed that the more you drink, the better your system sound!  There's an idea, spend less on cables and more on booze.

My neighbor Bigfood would love the sound but with my tube amp and speaker set up, it's an intimate (low decibel) affair unless I go with klipsh La Scala.

All myth.  Bigfoot is actual deaf to "our" sound frequency.  His favorite music is a simple sound of a dog whistle.  The one made from pure silver, it has a smoother sound.  The copper is to harsh.  So he said.

Welcome to AC, Yitaro.

I suppose Bigfoot isn't a kazoo music fan. Great music there.

I'm enjoying my local roaster's "wine coffee" (coffee beans stored in red wine barrels).  Great for later in the day by a diabetic.

Boy your physical isolation beats me (Michigan).  For years I thought I must be nearly the only audiophile in the state, still none within 50km, and the closest "audio shop" doesn't know what a DAC, class D, or music server are.  Then about 15 years ago I discovered the internet and found dozens of audiophiles (still more than 50km away but drivable when the snow lets up).

Glad you've hung in there and look forward to your posts, welcome!
