That's right, they revealed their blatant flaw.  Too revealing of a setup.  I've heard them more than one time on my system and more than one system.

For what it's worth, I love the sound of the Audience AU24 cables, though I don't own them.  Just trust your ears.

I am going to say something that is very non-audiophile kosher, but be very weary of cables that effect the audioband to any great degree.  I think your gear is top notch so I think you should avoid tuning or taming your system with cables.  I would try to focus on cables that let your system be your system and try to make the cables 'unnoticeable'.

The most sensible comment so far...

If power delivery, vibration control and room acoustics are not dealt with properly one will end with *Band Aid* cables.  That's why I think the Audience is so popular.   Highly revealling silver cables like the VenHaus and Ridge Street will be ruled out.  So will be the *emotional* component of the music.  

What'll be left is great "Hi Fi" sound...

My system deals sucessfully with all the above and is 100% solid state and 100% silver wiring througout (silver plated copper speaker wire) past the DAC (Pulsar digital).  It can be done, but it takes effort.  Nobody can give recipes.  It's all system dependent, individual-driven and a slow process.  Take it or leave it.

i am firmly in the camp of using cabling that is as revealing & as neutral as possible.  which is why i like the pure silver alphacore cabling.  it does nothing but pass the signal, imo.  haven't heard these others, so i can't comment on them.  but, i have no desire to change, either,     & the alpha-core cables are somewhat reasonably priced, even new.  used, they're a bargain, imo...

I sold you the plans. Instead of cash, I asked for some CDs I couldn't find locally.  Still wondering if the big screen between the big speakers improves their imaging?  

Exactly, that isn't exactly selling now is it?  The big screen is about 4 feet behind the speakers.   No problems with imaging as many can attest to.

Wow... That is what I have been waiting for all along someone who can strongly recommend something. Now try being serious about it.

People that are indecisive or refuse to take a firm stance irritate me.

This is not directed towards anyone in particular but I have noticed that someone will ask a question about gear and get flooded with responses that XYZ product is system dependant, blah, blah, blah.

Since synergy is important can we all agree that just about everything is system dependant and stop responding stating the obvious just for the sake of responding?

If you have heard the cable, amp, preamp, etc what associated equipment did you use and what did you think of it compared to similar products.

Since we cannot afford to try every product or product combination we have to rely on others who share the same interests to provide some guidance. I think that is one of the reasons forums like this exist in the first place but I could be wrong.

Sorry for being off topic Bryan.  I stated my opinion and it isn't without a lot of experience to back it up. Others have stated theirs and I didn't crap on them for their opinion because that is theirs to own.  *

Try out the cables that you are receiving from Wayne and if you still have the Audience on hand, test them out in comparison.  If you like the Audience better, fine that is your opinion to live it.  Is it wrong?  No, I might not agree with it but we each have our own criteria.  I knew that you were looking for cables that would make the least impact on the sound of your system and in my experience those are not the Audience.  This was advice, take it for what its worth.  *

Wayne from Boulder Cable is sending me 2 pairs of balanced summits. I plan to borrow 2 pairs of Ascoustic Zen Silver Ref II and maybe some Au24s.

Anyone local to Charlotte, NC have a few pairs of balanced cables they would like to bring by for a   If so we can schedule a date. I would prefer to keep the demo limited to a couple of people that bring cables and music.

I haven't heard much of what you guys are talking (nor really want to spend too much time auditioning IC's), but I mostly agree with doug s. on this one.  The Alpha-Cores TQ2's are awfully good on several set-ups I've had here...the top end has great substance, in particular, and the rest is very acceptable.

Cheap, too, at $125 or so a 0.5 meter and, I think, $180 for a meter.  Perhaps best of all, no (like zero) break-in time to enjoy, or not enjoy, it.
