For Sale: one Virtue Audio Sensation M901 class-T integrated amplifier. This model is well known on Audiocircle (see the Virtue Audio circle for many comments on this amp). There are also numerous very positive reviews on the web. This amp is the slightly more expensive M901 model, not the M451. It does not have the Dodd tube buffer.

I am the original owner of this amp, which comes with the most recent battery power supply (a $129 optional extra). This allows you to 'get off the grid'. The wooden top of the amp and the wooden volume dial (see the photos) are also custom additions. The amp outputs a pretty stout 87 watts into 4 ohms and the battery supply allows you to get off the grid.

I put my amp on audiogon where I haven't been in years. Nary a sniff so far. Guys ask, is the manual with it, original packing? I reply and never hear another word. That't kind of aggravating.

Hi,
This does not include the upgraded PS does it? That makes it 30w at 4ohm per channel. Plenty for me. just trying to clarify.
Im assuming the blue box is the battery box? Can you tell me a little about it?
Why does it appear to be wrapped in blue tape?
Can the amp just be plugged into the wall and bypass the battery box?
How long do the batteries last and is changing them a big deal or is it a rechargeable battery?

flavo, this sale would include the barely power supply as shown. I originally bought the amp from Virtue with the 'audiophile' 30V/130W power supply, but sold the latter when I acquired the battery power supply. Frankly, I don't know what the wattage produced by the amp is with this power supply, but I always found it pretty sturdy. I simply left it on trickle charge, so I can't tell you how long the battery will supply adequate power for the amp to run. This probably reduced the sound quality a bit, but it was very convenient. I'm afraid I don't know anything replacing the battery because I have never had to do that. However, one neat thing about this power supply is that it has a double-headed power supply cable, so it can power the amp plus a second component that can run on 24V. The amp requires an external power supply to function. If you don't use this power supply, you would need to buy another power supply from Virtue to power the amp. Seth and Jason at Virtue Audio are terrific to deal with and they can probably answer these questions for you. Things have been fairly quiet there for a while, but they are still an active business.
