Hi I am considering a table with a SMMC1 MM cart installed with approx 200hrs. I have several MC carts now and just trying to gauge interest in resell of the SMMC1.

Does this cart have any demand or good resell value?? Or would I be stuck holding the cart. haha

it can be retipped by SS for about 250 or less depending on the cartridge. SS cartridge have  very good resale value.

Hi Nick,
 I forget what you're running now.  Your system page isn't up to date and leaves off with a 2M Blue.  You might want to check out the SS cart.  His carts take off where B&O left off.  Could be a keeper, but that's for you to decide.

Not sure what you would want to get for it, what it might fetch, or what your personal tastes are, but IMHO this is a decent cart...

The SMMC1 cartridge retailed for about $900 in 2012,  before subsequent price increases and lineup changes.  It's a moving iron cartridge with a ruby cantilever and contact line stylus.  If it has only 100 hours on it, there should be a lot of life left in it.

I have been running a Soundsmith Boheme for about 6 years now (an SMMC2 with Ebony body) and I absolutely love it.  But I'm not Mr Golden Ears... prior carts included a Stanton 681EEE, KAB Ortofon Concorde OM20 and 2M Blue... which it trounced.

Hey thanks for all the replys, im sure its a nice cart. I was strictly entertaining resell but decided I couldn't live with a blue table.
