Canton subwoofer model AS-85
« on: 26 Feb 2016, 08:50 pm »
My brother AC'er has the Canton sub AS-85.  It keeps blowing fuses.  How to fix? What could be the problem?  My guess is an internal short.  The fuse is two amp and he wants to upgrade to a three amp fuse to solve the problem.  I say no. Thoughts please.

I don't know anything about that particular sub but going to a higher rated fuse is asking to blow the amp and possibly start a fire. The purpose of the fuse is to be the weak link so it blows first. Use a higher rated fuse and it may no longer be the weak link.

Any time something keeps blowing fuses it needs to be checked out by someone who knows what they are doing.
