I have had an interest in audio for ages and just purchased a used Thorens TD150 turntable. I think it is the Mk I with original arm. The tonearm has no antiskating feature. It came without a cartridge. Could any of you give me suggestions for a good cartridge? Is the tonearm considered a "high mass" arm and thus require a low, or high compliance cartridge? I've read that some of the Audio Technicas are a good match. Also, I have read that the lack of anti skate will inflict serious wear to my vinyl lp's. True? jAre there any resources online devoted to the restoration of Thorens TD150's ? Sorry, guess that's a lot of questions all in one post. Must be overly excited about my new table. hee.
