Its been over 20 years since i owned a solid state amp, but am open to the idea . The Clones 25ir has gotten amazing reviews, but the "sounds like tubes" phrase gets used way to often with a lot of solid state gear. I am having a hard time finding a 5-12 watt tube amp that appeals to me, that doesn't cost a fortune. I may have to go the DIY route with Bottlehead or something similar. Thanks for the suggestions. Keep em' coming.
But your Omega with 91 dB is perfect to use a chipamp.
Dave (ZenWave) said my little amp was a very good match for Omega's. And it sounds a lot better now. I've had several AudioSector (PD) 3875 amps and they never came near it.And Maty is correct, that attenuator can't be beat for anything under $100. So many sound bad by comparison including Alps blue velvet.
