Something for Chris maybe?

Hi Chris

It would be nice if our saved Playlists could be display in
alphabet order, this way when they grew we could find
saved Playlist of double albums and rearrange albums
quickly.

Thanks
Itshak

Soundirok 1.6 is in the Apple app store. Boo-yah!

EDIT: and it seems to be very complete with this revision. I am all set.

Daniel is doing a nice job on Soundirok. V1.6 is an improvement over the previous version, but it isn't "very complete" if you have any WAV files in your library, in which case MPad is a better option.

I believe Daniel is working on getting WAV files to work correctly with Soundirok (there is a tagging issue that MPad doesn't have), but I can't use it unless I switch a ton of files to FLAC - and I don't want to do that. Hoping Daniel gets WAV files working since the developer of MPad seems to have lost interest in developing the app any more.

Chris has done a great job with MM over the last few years, but I use an iPad for controlling my BDP and hate using a web browser to play music. I prefer using a stand alone app, but that's my own issue.

Maybe I should add that since I understood
That the search on the MM can be made by folder tree
I took a time to arrange my tree ( not relying on the metadata only ).

I made pre folders of GENER SUB-GENERS of ARTISTS and BANDS or COMPOSERS
All as I want basically arrange the branches on the tree for all album as I wanted it to be.

So in this regard all fruits (albums) seat on the specific branch were I put it and not were
the computer/software would or may choose to organize it.
this way navigating by folder and reaching the album in the MM
become very easy and fast for me.

I'm no computer head just learn What will do the correct tricks for my needs,
it's working a charm on the MM

Cheers again

Itshak

Agreed... when browsing by folder, Manic Moose works well and I have none of the meta data problems that appear in the Default View (e.g. multi-disc and albums with more than 10 tracks load into the queue correctly).

However, I've noticed that when browsing by folder, items are not sorted alphabetically, which can make it difficult to browse large folders. I haven't been able to figure out what the BDP is using for sort criteria, but it's something other than the lexicographical ordering of the folder names. Some will be ordered alphabetically, but then random entries will appear misplaced. Same thing with my playlists.

I've looked at the date/time stamps on the folders on my NAS, but that doesn't offer me any clues.

If we have too many fruits (albums) on one branch than we need one or two or more
branch (pre folders) to split the fruits.

More branchs-less fruits on each- easier to navigate quicker.
Took me a day work to create the folders and put what I want inside
and check that it's not over stuffed.

But it let me dictate the way I want the albums to appear on the "shelves" instead of
the mercy of the metadata algorithm.

For MM I see no better way and Actualy it's the best way for me.

Letter on when better option will show up I can always split all again and eliminate those
Pre folders and split all again as I didn't Actualy change anything inside the original
Folder structure.

Hi all,

In regards to Soundirok, I've attempted to set it up as outlined earlier in this thread but I still cannot get album artwork to show. The artwork is listed as "Folder" or "folder" in each of my music files (everything is FLAC) and I even attempted to use "bdp_front_250" which is the folder generated by the MM...but still no go. I did try "Folder.jpg" and "folder.jpg" as well. Clearly I'm missing something and will likely require succinct instructions to get this working. I entered the BDP2's IP address into the Collection URL section...but perhaps I am missing an extension?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Dave,

The art files are Case sEnsitive, so "Folder.jpg" and "folder.jpg" are not the same thing.

Look at this thread and see if that helps: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=144773.0

Ahh, thanks for putting me on to the correct thread! The instructions are easy enough to follow...not sure where I've gone wrong. I'll post back once I get it working.

Cheers!
