Ceiling panels- Run vertical or Horizontal of speakers??

Guys just built some ceiling absorbers- 18x48- 4" thick- How should they be mounted- vertical running parallel to the speakers down the long wall OR horizontal -basically running perpendicular to the speakers=thks
