For those of us, like me, who are clueless about such things but imagine one might come in useful -- is this a good deal on a good remote or is something better out there?

I won't use anything but Logitech.

I paid more for my 650 about 4 years ago that I am still using on the main floor today.  1 fish to rule them all!  Please note I have a strange love of calling remotes fish - because of the "school" of them I see on so many people's coffee table.  That drives me nuts!

In the basement I  use a different Logitech unit.

Super simple to setup, and easy for all to use.
