There's a pair of Electrocompaniets at a really, really screaming good deal price right here in AChttp://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=137572.0Warm, sweet and even if they are mono amps, are half width so they don't take up that much spaceBrand new the Modwright amps would be on my list for sure. Others would be Wells InamorataAesthetix Atlas Pass XA160.8 McIntosh MC152 or 302Tubes that might not create that much heat or take up too much space while packing a wallop KR VA910s
Until very recently, I used the Halo Parasound A23 amplifier with my Unifield 2 speakers with very good results. It didn't cost an arm and a leg, nor did it produce a lot of heat. However, in my unattainable quest for the ultimate sound in my modest living space, I decided to upgrade the electronics in my system to a solid state brand that did cost an arm and a leg. In my opinion, the resulting audio quality was worth it. So much so, that I took the plunge and am awaiting delivery of a new pair of the Unifield 2 Signature model. I'm kinda excited.
To Leif: Feel free to break them in prior to shipment to dealer. Just don't break them!To Ravibe: I am now running with Constellation Inspiration series stereo amp 1.0 and preamp 1.0 which, I believe, powered the Signatures at the last Newport Beach audio show.
