I'll be there Sunday and pizza afterwards at Giordano's.

Great Chicago style pizza!

I've purchased my show pass.  I should start looking into rooms next..  Maybe we VSA/Endeavor fans and designers can all grab dinner nearby?

Many of the lower level (basement) rooms were poured concrete walls, and as I recall cubic or near the size of double cubes, so plan on lots of treatments.
We are well prepared for this.  Given the fact that the VR-55's are so versatile.  Also, we will have some of the best sound treatment in the world.  One of the things I do enjoy about the VR-55's, is that even in a standard size hotel room we can achieve fantastic sound with minimal treatment.

I've always enjoyed the sound of VSA with VAC gear.  I think the bigger room will be a nice fit for the 55's,, giving them a chance to breathe and allowing more audiophiles a chance to comfortably enjoy.  I'm really looking forward to hearing that new tweeter on the E3's as well...  Going to be a fun show....  Last time I attended Axpona the new 100's were the talk of the show. .  First showing of the 55's at Axpona?
This will be the first showing of the VR-55's at Axpona.  And VAC electronics have always matched the VSA speakers well.

Hi Rodney
Nice to see your system/room

I could second the vsa/vac combo.....stunning sound which i have heard for myself!

you have optimised the sound with the stereo vac amp , vr9se mark 2.... I think that magical ceiling height in your customised room makes very beautiful music in synergy with Alberts masterpiece....Vr 9se mark2!!!

More so the convience of it all is with just a flick off an button.....I thoroughly enjoyed the sound it made....and I don't think adding vac monos or changing to vsa signatures or ultra will provide any useful improvement....enjoy

More photos would be ideal!!.....sorry  about the lateral post

would be nice to listen to the vr 55...axpona??

We will be running Ultra cables at Axpona for any of you who have not had a chance to experience the top of the line MasterBuilt cables.  Never heard a cable that can do what these do.

hi leif

are you'll demoing the mb ultra powercords at the exhibition ( did pm albert awhile ago for the same but not reply)....
would definitely like to try ultra pcs in my system.....

I have been the initial user of the ultra loom ICs and spc user for 22/12 plus.....

strange but true....have been using my old vsa signature cords to compare with the ultra loom for the last10/7 days....so that I bring an old thread to completion!

must say the signatures are fantastic ......BUT once you get used to the ultras....THERE IS NO GOING BACK!
what I like most is my 4 single runs of speaker ultra cables per mono block.....just makes music soo palpable and like being there

The answer to your question is yes.

We'll be running an Ultra PC on each of the VAC power amps at Axpona.  The rest of the PC's will be a mix of the Signature and Reference lines.

For several years now, I've run the Signature cables and believe with all my heart and ears that the Signatures are just as good as any of the "Big Brand" most expensive cables.  I never ever thought for one second that the sound needed or could be any better than what the Signatures brought to the game UNTIL...

The first Ultra interconnect arrived.  It didn't matter where in the chain you put this interconnect.  The improvement to the sound had to be at least a 30% increase.  I'll tell you that when we added other manufacturers TOP-OF-THE-LINE  cables into the chain of interconnects, the sound took on colored and vailed tonality.  MasterBuilt told me this was due to the fact that the Ultra's precious alloy is so pure it will reveal a cable with less pure material.  After our extensive comparisons, they are correct.

And then the Ultra speaker cables arrived...

OMG!!!!!  Now with the Ultra speakers cables in place, anything before them can be heard so clearly that it has been an eye opener how these other cables brands sound.  The Ultra cables have destroyed my ability to appreciate systems without it.

And then we get to the Ultra power cords which recently arrived in my reference system...

I simply can't describe just how big of a difference it is over the Signature PC which I believe is just as good if not better than the most expensive PC on the market.  Simply put, the Ultra PC destroys the Signature and is in my honest opinion untouchable by any other manufacturer.  Once I experienced the full loom (Ultra throughout the entire system) I can never go back even knowing that the Signatures are fantastic.

This is the same experience I had when I first heard the VR-111s.  It opened my eye to what was possible having reached a new plateau in performance.  This isn't an evolutionary improvement over the Signature, it's a revolutionary increase is resolution and musicality.

Damon and I are cracking up.  We share your pain given that we are both happily married to our second wives and understand the consequences of this hobby.

This is hitting too close to home  :o

Just got my pair of Ultra ICs and the improvement is significant - now feel compelled to complete my transition to Ultra cables all around but I'm already on my second wife  :duh:

No wife to worry about for me! A pair of VR-55's in Piano black with a pair of ultra cables are still high on my bucket list! Just need $$$! Hopefully one of these days! Any news on attending the Capital Audio Fest?
