Hi everyone,
I'd like to introduce myself as a new member of Audio Circle.
I've been active in all things audio both as a hobbyist and as a professional (though that's a while ago) for about 40-odd years now. I've turned my back on Hi-Fi several times for different reasons, but now I think I will remain faithful.
My latest re-entry came about when I started to repair a 'vintage' turntable from the early 70s, about 10 years ago. Since then, I've repaired (and despaired of!) many a table (lost count actually) and hung on to about 20 of them. So I guess you could say I've saved a fair number from oblivion at the dump and got expelled in the process. Lately, I've been looking at reel-to-reel tapedecks. I have gathered so much stuff that I'm under direct threat from my wife; people tend to unload their vintage and not-so-vintage gear at my place, so it's really not my fault, is it?
I included a little snippet of a pre-amp to show what I'm on about.

I'd like to think that I'm an analog man (know Joe Walsh's song of same title?) but that would be denying my other personality, digital man, toying with DAC's, NAS mediaservers, networks, audio software etc.
Oh, and I consider myself European, having been all over the place.
I see all kinds of exciting stuff and discussions here at AC, so I'm excited that I have finally joined!
Best to all,
Marco
