Trying to sell an Acram rDac
« on: 20 Jan 2016, 10:38 pm »
My name is Charles.  I have an Acram Rdac and no longer need it because  I have a Marantz receiver and an Oppo player, both have dac's included.  I don't know if this is the right section to post this but I'm sure someone will notify me if its not.

I am selling it for $350

I don't have anything fancy.  I have a Marantz SR5008, Oppo Bdp-103d, Acram rDac, and Klipsch RF7II.  I like a all times of music.  I've found pleasurable songs in a wide variety of genre's.  I want to start listening to vinyl.  What do you have?

You can see a few pics of my system here, but I've since relocated my electronics into a closet at the back of the room.

You have a nice system.  How do you like the Oppo BDP-105?

I'm very happy with the Oppo.  I use it primarily as a DAC, but also as a CD/SACD player.  I'm currently running the balanced outputs directly into my amps and it sounds pretty amazing.

Welcome aboard.  Regardless of equipment, love of music counts for a great deal around here.

The stuff that sells better here is: 1.) Gear that our sponsors sell; 2.) Gear that has been discussed about a lot; 3.) Gear being sold by frequent/respected posters; 4.) Gear that has full disclosure and images.  (Misspelling doesn't help.)

Unfortunately your Arcam doesn't fit in here very well.  Suggest trying to list it on Audiogon which has a much bigger audience and a wide variety of gear.

Thank you for the advice.  Was something misspelled?

Should be Arcam, not Acram.

Thanks.  I am aware of the proper spelling.  My computer keep auto correcting and changing the word.  Again, thank you for your thoroughness.

That really is funny (that the computer would change one unrecognized/capitalized word into another).  I'm old enough to really resent "stupid computers".

My computer keep auto correcting and changing the word.

The only reference to "Acram" I have seen is an author of Android apps.  It's hard to imagine that would be in a spell check database.

But the greater question - why wouldn't you correct it?

I forgot to correct the first word but corrected the second word in the product name.  It was a clear mistake.  A mistake that anyone could make.  I am done with discussing it so I suggest we move on to something else.  Last time I checked, no one is perfect.

Be done with it if you want, but it might improve the odds of a sale if it were easier to read at a glance..,

Your option.

That is an understandable point.  The thing that is not understandable is the need to keep bringing it up.  One time said is sufficient.

Welcome and good luck with the sale.
I've had Arcam CD Players in the past and always found them to be excellent.
