I FINALLY MET THE MAN BEHIND THE VOICE


Out of curiosity, from a recent business trip at Indianapolis, I consulted a local map to find out how far Odyssey quarters is from the downtown hotel where I am staying.  I called Odyssey and the phone was answered by “the man” himself.   During our conversation, I was surprised that the man suggested that we should have dinner the following night since I am local.  Of course I agreed, who am I not to accept such courtesy from the maker of the amps that brings bliss to me day in and day out.

I spent dinner with the “man” at a local Japanese restaurant.  Our conversation evolves from family, to business, and to some audio oriented topics through out the meeting, in that particular order.  

In retrospect, I can say that it was a fruitful evening.  I learned more from the “man’s” perspective on audio facts that involves the business side of the spectrum in the short time I was conversing with him compared to all the hours I spent reading on some related topics that arouses my curiosity from time to time.

On this particular experienced, I developed a personal impression of who the “man” really is.  I am not impressed that I’m in the company of the man whose products I enjoy tremendously (mono amps, Quattros, and TS premiums); I am not impressed that I am sitting with a professional business man that is successful in running his crafts; I am not impressed that on front of me is the individual who, when I have questions, I talk to over the phone regarding his products and answers my inquiry patiently, all the time.  No I am not impressed from those things at all.

What I am really impressed about was that Klaus treat me as a FRIEND.  Not a customer, nor a passerby who just happens to be in his neck of the woods, but as a friend.

I finally met the man behind the voice.  He is indeed a professional, down to earth, courteous, and intellectual individual.  He is a real person worthy of my respects.

Thanks Klaus.  I hope that someday I can extend the same courtesy and accomodation that you had given me .

Wow!  Amandarae, nice to hear about your experience with Klaus.  Can he command rain to stop in any given moment?  Can he open doors at will?, Is he enveloped in shining purple and yellow lights?  Is he 10 feet tall?   Seriously, I'm envious , knowing and meeting Klaus personally and prooving that the myth surrounding this guy about his customer care and treatment of all his customers as family is not just all that...A MYTH.  I hope someday, I can meet him also.  To Klaus............ ....   and  Thanks, Amandarae is my family.

 Damn near!  and if you want him to toast, you better have some coffee ready!!
