Those Pure Audio Project with the Voxativ drivers look to be something pretty special.  I'm a fan of single drivers and Voxativ makes some really nice ones with a fanatical attention to detail and build quality.

The Leonidas crossovers that they are using with them look interesting as well...
Q: How does Leonidas Crossover work ?

A: Differently from typical two way crossover topology, Leonidas Crossover connects the drivers in serial, allowing them to perform independently in their main frequency range (woofers at the lows and FR at the mid and highs), while playing together and in a perfect phase in the so-called ‘cross range’. That range and the SPL balancing between the drivers are defined by the values of the components. The coil dominants mainly the woofers, the capacitor dominants mainly the FR (or tweeter) and the resistors are responsible mainly on the SPL balance between the two…

I wonder has anybody been able to compare Pure Audio Project open baffles (not necessarily the Voxativ edition as I know they are new) to any of Spatial's offerings?

What is your opinion on this type of crossover?  Does it get out f the way so to speak in regards to letting the full ranger do its business?

on tech  side "Series & Parallel Networks are (Virtually) Identical" , look at the end of page:
http://sound.westhost.com/parallel-series.htm
parallel is more simple to do and series stress a lot the tweeter ,not a problem here for fr , this two fact made pp the industrial standard and diy friendly

I didn't hear about the field coils yet, this is getting interesting.  Can you share some thought on why you think this is one of the better commercial OB designs?

Thanks!

you can see the news on is  pureaudio FB ,wolf +voxativ all fieldcoils is really really a dreams !! btw the standard trio15 with TB as FR with that neodimio15" is good too ,plus pureaudio is diy's friendly you can buy only the speakers...
Full range give OB all the way up , 7khz vs 800hz, a world of difference, and no xover in a critical voice range or noxover at all if you use a plate amp for bass !!
If you like a horn  do a real two way design, like altec or jbl .... just that a look how big is real 800hz horn...
I'm sure that Leonidas xover is good he know well is work
