I tried a little golf early in life and was quite good at it for a beginner. But it is a sport that requires a lot of time and money. So I just never got too deep into it..
Though it is considered an upmarket sport here as is everywhere else, being an ex Army officer, I've always had easy access to Golf courses managed by Army dotting big cities here in India but being a south paw, I had picked it up rather late due to nonavailability of lefties' equipment and too bad I had to give it up totally due to spinal injury which I sustained on the course.
Though I never visited US, viewing all the PGA Championships on Ten Sports channel being witnessed by burgeoning crowds got me into believing that a good number of folks there are hooked onto it.
Previous owners of the property did play golf on it.
That's interesting! May be you should consider picking up the game as well. All you need are a chipping wedge, a 7 Iron and a few Golf balls to begin with. You can add the driving range and the greens later as you progress.
