AV123 ELT525
« on: 13 Jan 2016, 07:19 pm »
Hi All.  I have a pair of these little bookshelf speakers in my third system.  My mind is turned as to how I might tweak them.  If I were to upgrade them, what should I do?  I suspect it's a matter of No Rez, better crossover parts and maybe a bypass cap?

Thanks.

There was an early ELT design and a later one. I did the design work on the later models. They were actually really nice drivers. I cap upgrade and a sheet of No Rez will go a long way with these speakers. I'd start there.

Thanks Danny.  I bought these on the AV123 liquidation sale, so I suspect they're the later ones.  think I have some extra no rez from my LS9 build, I'll check.  What cap values does the crossover need?  If I recall, I need to access it via the woofer rather than the back?  Or is it the other way around?

You can access the crossover through the woofer hole. I have everything you'll need plus the wiring diagram.
